Obituary

Freda M. Sweitzer, 95, of Elverson, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2010, at the Zerbe Sisters Nursing Home, following an illness.

She was born in Berks County, Pa., on March 13, 1915. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Blanche (Fleming) Beam. She was the wife of the late Elmer M. Sweitzer, who died in 1968.

Freda was a retired custodian at Twin Valley High School. She also at one time worked at the Talbot Knitting Mills of Morgantown.

Freda was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Blue Ball Sr. Women's League.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Beam, and a sister, Clara Davidherser.

Freda is survived by a son, Eugene E. Sweitzer, and a daughter, Linda M. Elston, both of Elverson. There are four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, from the Fairview Presbyterian Church, 800 Fairview Road, Glenmoore, with Pastor Andy Parsons officiating.

Interment will follow at the adjoining cemetery.

A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Please note that the calling hour and funeral service will be held in the fellowship hall of the church.
