C. JOHN KERR, 81 yrs., of Honey Brook, formerly of Willow Grove, died on Friday, December 2, 2011 at the Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester, following an illness. He was born on June 18, 1930 in Philadelphia and was the son of the late James E. and Rachel Selina (McQuillan) Kerr. C. John was the husband of the late Jeanette (Fleming) Kerr, who died on Feb. 16, 2004. C. John was a retired millwright for the Heintz Division Kelsey Hayes Co. He served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. C. John was a member of the Chelten Baptist Church; enjoyed woodworking in his backyard shop and was an avid Phillies fan. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers. C. John is survived by 4 daughters; Jean, wife of George Lay of Glenmoore, Joan, wife of John Lownes of Honey Brook, Judith, wife of Raymond Chelius of Spring Twp., Berks Co., and Joy Kerr of Wyndmoor. There are 8 grand-children and a great grand-daughter.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 at 8:30 A.M. at the Fairview Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 800 Fairview Road, Glenmoore, Pa., followed by the family receiving friends at the adjoining church. Beginning at 10:30 A.M. a Celebration of Life Service will commence in the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contribution be made in the memory of C. John to Mission Society at Chelten Baptist Church, 1601 Limeklin Pike, Dresher, Pa. 19025 or Neighbor-hood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall St., West Chester, Pa. 19380.
