Obituary

Joseph J. “Joe” Burdy, 46 years, of Pottstown, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.

Born on May 17, 1969 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John M. Burdy, Jr. He was the husband of Shelly L. (Heck) Burdy, with whom he shared 17 years of marriage.

Joe graduated from Twin Valley High School, Class of 1988 and Berks Vo-Tech School. He was a self-employed handyman. Joe was a member of the Fairview Presbyterian Church and the Frontier Archery Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his mother and step father, Carol Ann (Powell) Burdy Beam and James Beam of Morgantown, two brothers, Michael (Deb) Burdy and John (Laura) Burdy both of Elverson, and a sister, Cathryn (Charles) Linderman of Morgantown.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11 AM from the Fairview Presbyterian Church, 800 Fairview Road, Glenmoore, Pa. 19343, with Rev. Dr. Mark Atkinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM at the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. For directions to the church, please visit www.fairviewpc.org
