Obituary
Floyd Eugene Lilley was promoted to the Church Triumphant on Christmas Day 2021, at the age of 97. He resided at Historic Roswell Place in Roswell, Georgia. The family will have a private service, followed by inurnment at Fairview Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Glenmoore, Pennsylvania. Floyd is preceded in death by his wife Blanche D. Raysor; his daughter Pamela J. Lilley; and his parents Wilbur S. Lilley and S. Elva Hatfield. He is survived by his son, Roger Lilley and wife Karen of Acworth, GA; his daughter, Andrea Gladden and husband Jack of Winchester, VA; five grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Floyd was born on March 13, 1924 in Downingtown, PA. His fondest memories as a young man were playing trumpet and leading the dance band at Saint Anthony’s Italian Club in Downingtown, PA. Floyd served in the Army during World War II, occupying Japan after their surrender in 1945. Floyd came home to Downingtown and married Blanche Dutton Raysor on November 23, 1949. Floyd earned a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Delaware and was working towards his doctorate at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, when his first child was born. The prospect of raising a family turned Floyd towards a corporate career. He retired from General Electric Aerospace, after many years working on such endeavors as the Apollo Space Program and launching spy satellites that were used against the former Soviet Union during the Cold War. Floyd was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ, serving in numerous leadership roles at both Norristown Presbyterian Church (PA) and Fairview Evangelical Presbyterian Church. An avid cyclist, Floyd enjoyed riding his bicycle through the Amish countryside after moving to the Tel Hai Retirement Community in Honey Brook, PA. After his wife of 64 years passed, Floyd moved to Georgia to be near his son. Floyd leaves quite a legacy for all of us!
