Richard J. Dailey of East Fallowfield Richard J. Dailey, 71, of East Fallowfield, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 at the Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville. He was the husband of the late Eleanor (Ruch) Dailey with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born in Sunbury, he was the son of the late Harry L. Dailey and the late Martha A. (Taylor) Dailey. Richard was an Army veteran, serving with the 83rd Artillery in Germany during the early 60's. He worked as a store manager for Town & Country department stores, as a milk delivery man, and later was a distributor and owner of H & S Food Distributors for Tom Sturgis Pretzels in Lititz. He retired in 2004. While living in Boiling Springs, Richard was a member of the Allison United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Boiling Springs Lions Club, Boiling Springs Investment Club, and the Boiling Springs Sportsman Club. Richard also served on the school board for the South Middleton School District in the late 1970's. He was also a member of St. John's Masonic Lodge No. 260 in Carlisle. Richard is survived by two daughters, Allison Pinkston and Deb Jones; his sons-in-law, Greg Pinkston and Rob Jones; six grandchildren, Caleb, JoLynn, Brianna, Caitlin, Andrew, and Rachel; his three brothers, Harry "Bud" Dailey, John "Diz" Dailey, and James "Jim" Dailey. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Pinkston, and a sister, Nancy (Dailey) Foley. Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2011, at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, 410 N. Church St., West Chester, PA 610-696-1181 www.DellaFH.com. Visitation will be held at 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, at the funeral home. A private interment will take place at a later date at the Fairview Presbyterian Church Cemetery located in Glenmoore.
