Obituary

Christopher McCutcheon, 77, of Greenwich, died Monday morning, March 29, 2010, at South Jersey Healthcare-Elmer Hospital. Born Aug. 7, 1932, in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, he grew up on a farm outside Downingtown, Pa., where he developed a love of nature.

Chris attended the Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square, Pa., the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and had served as organist for many years.

He served as the organist at Calvary Episcopal Church in Germantown for over 44 years and most recently at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Bridgeton.

The son of the late Thomas P. McCutcheon and the late Margaret E. McCutcheon (nee Wilson), he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth McCutcheon (nee Green), of Greenwich; one daughter, Amanda McCutcheon, of Monroeville; one son, Ben McCutcheon, of Elkhart, Ill.; and one sister, Dorigen Clare, of Audubon, Pa.

Funeral services will take place privately and at the convenience of the family.

Cremation and inurnment took place at Laurel Lawn Crematory in Upper Deerfield Township.
