Emma L. Millard, 93, of Elverson, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at her home, while under the loving care of her family.

She was born on Sept. 28, 1915, in Geigertown, the daughter of the late Monroe and Rosa (Gougler) Edling.

She was the wife of the late Mark J. Millard, who died on Aug. 31, 1973.

Emma was a homemaker to her beloved family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.

She was the longest standing member of the Goodwill United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by two infant children; a son, Thomas Millard; and eight brothers and sisters.

Emma is survived by a daughter, Anna Mae Millard of Reading; and two granddaughters, who she raised in her household, Vickie Nunemaker and Lisa Shingle, both of Honey Brook. There are also many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m. at The Labs Funeral Home Inc., 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, with the Rev. Lester M. Groves, officiating.

Interment will follow in Fairview Presbyterian Cemetery.

A calling hour will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Emma to the Goodwill United Methodist Church, 104 Church Road, Elverson, PA 19805.
