Obituary

YORK Jane C. Watkins, 80, passed away on Saturday February 14, 2009, in her residence. She was the wife of the late Channing B. Watkins, to whom she was married 43 years. Private funeral services and burial will be in Fairview Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Glenmoore. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born on January 7, 1929, in West Chester, she was a daughter of the late Samuel P. and Martha (Marshall) Chalfant. She owned and operated two businesses in Philadelphia for 46 years before returning to the family farm in Glenmoore in 1991. Mrs. Watkins is survived by one brother, Robert M. and his wife, Ruth A. Chalfant of Exton; and her "adopted" family, Michael Lane, Samantha Lane, and Gene and his wife, Donna Lane, all of York. Her family knows that she is at peace and happy in her new heavenly home.
